1992 ~ CELEBRATING 30 YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE SOUTH BRONX ~ 2022
Through Target 3: Building Your Economic Legacy, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® calls upon its chapter to implement programming that emphasizes personal financial planning and asset accumulation, credit repair and monitoring, entrepreneurship and the Black Dollar 365, and Operation AKA Assist.
Tau Nu Omega's Economic Legacy Committee is focused on expanding access to financial wellness opportunities to individuals and families of the South Bronx by bringing awareness to the importance of financial planning, asset accumulation and wealth building, showcasing black-owned business in the community, and offering support to veterans and families in need.
With a focus on supporting those impacted significantly by COVID-19, we partner with local financial experts to provide helpful information to our constituents, including a virtual workshop on the benefits and potential downfalls of credit, the tenets of credit repair, how to budget during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, and how to safeguard against identity theft.
Additionally, Tau Nu Omega has identified thriving businesses in the South Bronx as part of our bi-weekly "Black Business Spotlight," where we highlight local black-owned businesses on our social media platforms.
The Economic Legacy Committee will offer workshops on personal financial planning, wise investment practices, and asset building in the coming months.
